Kitchen Extension & Refurb. Brixton, SW9
Bethell Projects
Bethell Projects was instructed to manage and deliver a wide-reaching renovation and extension project on this beautiful Georgian cottage in Brixton. Our work included digging down by 2 feet to lower the floor of the previous cramped kitchen. This allowed us to gain a much greater sense of height in the new space. We built a sensitively-designed side return that blends well with this conservation-area building, and is lit with large, classic "Crittal-style" doors and glazed panels. The interior design was led by the clients desire for a smart, calm, relaxed home with luxurious but unobtrusive touches. The new kitchen was bespoke painted and a range of lighting elements were incorporated including a neon script panel along one wall. Upstairs, the house was re-plastered, painted and fitted out with new carpentry and wardrobes. The garden was then rejuvenated with new turf, new borders and an array of shrubs, along with subtle garden lighting and a useful shed! The end result is a fabulous blend of classic style in a period home, that will stand the test of time.
